The Burst Your Bubble TV mission is to encourage thinking outside of the box with regards to individual and environmental health. Through the website “Burstyourbubble.ca” and corresponding IPhone application we are creating a social media portal/launch pad to start an educational dialogue with our audience about how our choices, influence and affect individual and environmental health. There is a 3 year plan in place to develop an interactive/social media driven website, and an interactive iPhone application which will be the platforms used to obtain the content for a documentary. The documentary will expose the stories told by our audience participants and what they are doing about “It”. It being the current condition of our individual, societal and environmental health.

Our goals are:

• to educate our audience about how to prevent diseases of affluence ( cancer, heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, arthritis etc.) through proper nutrition rooted in sustainability.
• to enable our audience to take ownership of their own health and make positive changes with the assistance of our iPhone application.
• to make the process innovative and interactive by obtaining the majority of the content from our audience submissions, through the use of the IPhone application and through social media voting.
• to revamp and remodel the existing documentary style by making its educational information positive and entertaining.

The most intriguing piece for me is that Jill Marie lost her hearing at age four although was not aware of this deficit until the age of 24. For 20 of her earliest and most developmental years, she instinctively relied upon body language, facial expressions, tone of voice and energy to understand what was being said. When Jill Marie finally realized she was hearing impaired at the age of 24 she received two new analogue hearing aids that allowed her to hear what she’d been missing for most of her life. This marked a new and memorable stage of her journey, beginning with the two years it took afterward for Jill Marie to learn how to listen to WORDS.

During this time Jill experientially discovered a valuable truth:
People’s words do not always match what their body is saying!
